Abstract
We examined the effects of new-designed sport-drink on fluid balance, heart rate, blood lactate, and electrolytes during exercise and recovery phase. This effects were investigated by the exercise protocols of eight male tennis players performed
20-min
treadmill running at the 75% maximal oxygen uptake. Experimental sport-drinks with vinegar were divided to MV without electrolytes and MS with electrolytes. Control sportdrink was common type, and placebo was plain water. At 60-min of recover
phase
after submaximal treadmill running(75% VO2max), heart rate of plain water-intake group showed a significantly(P<0.05) higher values than resting heart rate, but heart rate of MV, MS, and existing sport-drink intake groups showed no significantly
different values than resting heart rate.
On the changes of blood lactate concentration during submaximal treadmill running, the MV and MS-intake groups showed a lower values than existing sport-drink and plain water-intake. At 5-min of recovery phase after submaximal treadmill running,
blood
lactate of plain water-intake group shoed a significantly(P<0.05) higher values than resting values, but blood lactate of MV, MS, and existing sport-drink intake groups showed no significantly different values than resting values. At 60-min of
recovery
phase after submaximal treadmill running, blood lactate concentrations of plain water-intake and existing sport-drink groups showed a significantly(P<0.05) higher values than blood lactate of the MV and MS-intake groups. And blood lactate
recovery
rate
of MV and MS-intake groups at 30-min and 60-min after submaximal treadmill running showed a significantly(P<0.05) higher values than plain water-intake and existing sport-drink groups. In these results, we can suggest the precise conclusion on
the
effective recovery of MV and MS sport-drink after submaximal exercise.
Changes of hematocrit values, osmolarity, and electrolytes after submaximal treadmill running, showed no significantly different tendency among the different sport-drink types. But serum sodium concentrations of plain water-intake group
immediately
exercise showed a significantly(P<0.05) lower values than resting values, although the other groups showed no significant difference. Therefore it was suggested the importance of sport-drink with electrolytes during exercise.
In the functional testing of sport-drink with questionnaire, we can not suggested the significant results, but the taste and odour of MV and MS showed the negative responses. In summary, we can suggest the precise conclusion on the effective
fatigue
recovery of MV and MS sport-drink after exercise. For the detail analysis of fluid balance and electrolytes, it was need of the continuous studies with the various exercise types. And the new disigned sport drinks(MV and MS) were asked the
improvement
of taste and odour.
